Arizona State, the No. 9 seed, defeated No. 11 seed Chattanooga 3-2 in the 13th-place match at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Sophomore Jesper Kennegard was victorious in all three of his matches in California, winning his final round 3 and 1 against Stephan Jaegar. Stephan Gross and Knut Borsheim also won, defeating Ben Rickett 2 and 1, and Derek Rende 1-up, respectively. Tristan Bierenbroodspot lost to Jonathan Hodge 1-up, while Spencer Fletcher fell 6 and 4 to Fredrik Qvicker.
Middle Tennessee defeated Indiana 4-1 to win the championship, while UCLA won the tiebreaker 2-1-2 against Florida State to take third.
