The Arizona State women's gymnastics team was awarded their 28th consecutive NCAA Regional. The Sun Devils will be a five seed at the South Central Regional, held in Fayetteville, Ark., on April 4.
The Sun Devils will be joined in Fayetteville by host Arkansas, along with No. 1 seed Stanford and No. 3 seed Michigan. In-state rival Arizona and Southern Utah will also compete at the South Central Regional. The Sun Devils will begin the meet on beam, where they are currently ranked 19th nationally.
Six teams, five all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and one individual event specialist per event [who has a minimum Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 9.4] were named to each of the six regions. The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Lincoln, Neb., held Apr. 14-16.
In addition, the event winners at the regional championships will advance to the national championships (in that event only) if they are not part of a qualifying team or the all-around qualifiers.
