OMAHA, Neb. - Day two in Omaha was a little less hectic for the Sun Devils, with only a practice and a team meeting filling up their day. The Devils practiced at Boys Town, a school for severely at-risk children. Another large crowd of well wishers greeted ASU as they arrived on the beautiful campus in suburban Omaha.
After practice, the team signed autographs for the large contingent of kids who had come out to watch the Devils on the diamond. When the team returned to the hotel, they were able to grab a quick nap before heading out to the team dinner.
In 2005, Arizona State ate at Piccolo's, an Omaha staple. 2007 was no different as the whole team enjoyed a famous Omaha steakhouse. Head coach Pat Murphy had a special guest join the team for dinner: Vanderbilt head baseball coach Tim Corbin and his wife Maggie. Corbin is close friends with Murph.
After dinner, the team headed back to the hotel to prepare for the opening game of the 2007 College World Series.
