TEMPE, Ariz.- Arizona State University has signed six women swimmers to national letters of intent, announced Head Coach Mike Chasson. The list includes two women from California and one international swimmer from Croatia.
Mirela Kardasevic (Zagreb, Croatia) will come in hoping to impact the Sun Devils as a backstroker and sprint freestyler. Kardasevic competed for Birotehnika/HAPK Meadost and the Croatian National Team.
Out of Blue Valley High School, Ashton Aubry (Leawood, Kan.) hopes to help the Sun Devils in the butterfly and backstroke events. Aubry also competed for the K.C. Blazers Swim Club and was a Junior National Team member along with being an Olympic Trials qualifier.
Ashley Evans (Madison, N.J.), a product out of Madison High School, swims the IM and breaststroke. She is an Olympic Trials qualifier and swam for the Berkeley Aquatic Club.
Jamie Martinez (San Jose, Calif.) and Jessie Perazzo (Yucaipa, Calif.) are the California products in this year's 2006 recruiting class. Martinez, out of Evergreen Valley High School, competed for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics swimming butterfly, backstroke, IM and freestyle. Perazzo is a product of Yucaipa High School and swims the sprint freestyle events. She is one of the top high school sprinters in the country.
Also signing an NLI with the Sun Devils was Sara McDaniel (East Lansing, Mich.). Out of Okemos High School, McDaniel swam for the Capital Area Swim Team and is a Junior Nationals qualifier. McDaniel swims breaststroke and sprint freestyle events.
