TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University's Derek Hagan joins another elite preseason list heading into the 2005 football season, becoming one of just two wide receivers named to the 2005 Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook All-American Team, the publication announced Wednesday. A senior from Palmdale, California, Hagan has already been selected to the 2005 Playboy preseason All-American Team.
Hagan was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award and a second-team All-American in 2004, including leading the team in receiving in each of the last two seasons. He is the second player in ASU history to turn in back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving campaigns. Hagan also ranks second on ASU's career lists with 181 receptions, and third with 2,729 yards and 19 receiving touchdowns.
Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook will be available in July by mail order and at select bookstores. Order through Blue Ribbon's website, www.blueribbonyearbook.com or by calling 1-866-805-BALL (2255).
