Stanford, Calif - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team found themselves back in action Friday afternoon at Stanford's Taube Tennis Center, facing off with the top-ranked Stanford Cardinal squad.
The day started off tough for the Devils as Stanford swept doubles even with the 21st-ranked Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler giving the 12th -ranked Alice Barnes and Erin Burdette a run in a gritty 9-8 (7-2) loss.
The story was similar for the Devils in singles play as all six matches were swept by Stanford in straight sets.
The Devils fall to 6-7 on the season and 1-3 in the Pac-10 while Stanford moves to 16-0 on the season.
ASU will return to action tomorrow against the No. 17 Cal Bears.
The match is set to be played at Cal with a start time of 12 p.m.
