Tempe, AZ - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team was back in action Tuesday afternoon as they took on the Southwest Missouri State Bears at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center.
The Devils were back in form again as they swept every match on the day from the Bears, taking a 7-0 win.
The day started off well for the Devils as the 55th-ranked duo of Sabrina Capannolo and Jessica Leitch lead off with a 8-0 win over SMS's Paty Manzur and Biljana Gakovic, the Devils were followed up with their teammates Joslynn Burkett and Rebecca Rankin defeating Stephanie Harmazy and Carolina Ardila 8-1.
The story was similar in singles play as the Devils kept their roll going sweeping all six matches in straight sets.
Arizona State's Rebecca Rankin and Vana Tomas both blanked their opponents with 6-0, 6-0 wins apiece.
Right behind them was fellow Devil Jessica Leitch who beat SMS's Biljana Gakovic 6-1, 6-0.
The rest of the Sun Devil squad followed their lead shutting out the Bears on the day.
The Devils move to 6-6 on the season, and have until Friday before they gear up to return to action against the top-ranked Stanford (14-0, 2-0 Pac-10) squad on Friday, April 1st, and the 17th-ranked California (11-3, 1-1 Pac-10) on Saturday, April 2nd.
Both matches will be played in California; both matches will count towards Pac-10 standings.
