Tempe, AZ - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team went head to head with No. 5 USC Friday afternoon at Tempe's Whitman Tennis Center, but the Women of Troy proved to be too strong for the Devils as ASU fell 6-1.
The day started off tough for the Devils as they were swept by USC in doubles, even with the 21st-ranked duo of Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler giving USC's Carine Vermeulen and Lindsey Nelson a run for their money in a tough 9-8(5) loss.
Singles played out in a similar fashion for the Devils as the sole match won on the day for the Sun Devils was senior Lauren Colalillo's 6-1, 6-2 win over USC's Taylynn Snyder.
The rest of Colalillo's fellow Devils fell in straight sets to the Women of Troy.
The Sun Devils fall to 5-5 on the season and look to face No. 12 UCLA (9-4) Saturday afternoon.
The match is set to kick off at noon at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center.
