WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Alejandro Canizares of Arizona State has been named Pacific-10 Conference Golfer of the Month for February.
Canizares, a junior from Manilva, Spain, won two out of three tournaments the Sun Devils participated in during February. He opened the month with a victory in the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate at Tucson and closed it with a win at the Puerto Rico Classic. It upped his career total to six tournament wins. Canizares posted a stroke average of 68.44 in three events during the month, with six of nine rounds in the 60s and no round higher than 71.
Canizares and the Sun Devils will next compete in the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson at the end of the month.
