TEMPE, Ariz. - Fans and media are invited to watch the 25th-ranked Arizona State University women's basketball team scrimmage at 6 p.m. Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
With a 22-9 overall record, the Sun Devils are looking to make their sixth all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and their first since advancing to the second round in 2002. ASU advanced to the championship game of the 2005 State Farm Pac-10 Tournament, falling to top-ranked Stanford. This season marks the seventh 20-win season in Sun Devil women's basketball history and the third for ninth-year head coach Charli Turner Thorne.
This year will also mark the school-record sixth consecutive postseason appearance for Turner Thorne, who is the all-time winningest coach in ASU women's basketball history. With an NCAA berth this season, she could become the first coach in school history to lead the Sun Devils to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
ESPN will televise the NCAA Tournament Selection Show at 3 p.m. Mountain Time on Sunday, announcing the 64-team bracket for the 2005 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
