Tempe, AZ - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team stepped up to face tough Pac-10 foe, No. 6 Washington, Sunday afternoon at Tempe's Whiteman Tennis Center.
The match was a make-up from the originally scheduled match which was rained out Friday afternoon.
Due to time constraints, the match was played tournament-style with the first team to four winning the match, and doubles being played only if the teams split the singles points.
Doubles was unnecessary on Sunday though, as the Huskies swept up four singles points in five matches.
The Devils faced a tough line-up as three of the Huskies singles players are ranked.
No. 18 Dea Sumantri faced off against Joslynn Burkett, who lost the match 6-3, 6-3 to the Husky.
The one bright point of the day for the Devils came with Freshman Sabrina Capannolo's solid 6-0, 6-4 win over UW's Saskia Nauenberg.
Sunday's match placed the Devils at 6-11 for the season and 1-4 in the Pac-10 standings.
The match also wrapped up the Devils regular season home schedule, as they take to the road next weekend to face No. 11 California and No. 1 Stanford Friday and Saturday, April 9th and 10th.
Both matches will count towards the Pac-10 standings.
