The Sun Angel Foundation is hosting the annual Arizona State University Sun Devil Football Instructional Camps June 5, 2004, and June 7-9, 2004.
The Instructional Camp on June 5 is broken into two sessions. The Maroon & Gold session is open to athletes who will be in the 12th grade in the fall of 2004 who endeavor to receive individual attention in developing advanced techniques involved in the game of football. This camp runs from 7:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The Specialized Kicking Session, which begins at 2 p.m., is open to athletes who will be in grades 10-12 in the fall of 2004 and is intended for snappers, punters and place kickers who endeavor to receive individual attention in developing advanced techniques involved in the kicking game of football.
The cost of the Maroon & Gold Session and the Kicking Session are $30 per camper per session. If an athlete attends both sessions the fee is $50 for the combined instruction.
Athletes in grades 5-12 as of fall 2004 are invited to participate in the three-day camp aimed at developing fundamental football skills. The daily schedule beginning Monday, June 7 starts with players reporting at 7:45 a.m. Stretching and agility work starts at 8 a.m. followed by periods conducted from 8:30-9:30 a.m., 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 10:30-11:30 a.m. From 11:30-11:50 a.m. players will receive specialty instruction with the camp adjourning at 12:00 p.m. Lecture and demonstration in proper weight training and flexibility will be conducted daily.
The cost of attending the three-day camp is $100 per camper if registration information is submitted on or before May 31 and $125 if registration is submitted on or after June 1. If a group of five or more submits their applications simultaneously, the fee is $90 per camper in that group.
Athletes are able to attend both the one-day and three-day camps. If an individual wishes to attend the three-day camp in addition to either of the one-day sessions (Maroon & Gold Session or Kicking Session), the fee is $120. If an individual wishes to attend the three-day camp and both one-day sessions, the fee is $130.
Groups are also able to participate at both camps. Groups of five or more can sign up for the three-day camp and the Maroon & Gold Session for $110 per camper, the three-day camp and the Kicking Session for $110 per camper or the three-day camp and both sessions for $120.
Equipment that campers will need to bring to both the one-day and three-day camps include a t-shirt, baseball cap or visor, football cleats, tennis shoes, athletic shorts, athletic socks, sunscreen and an athletic supporter. For more information, call 480-965-3429 or visit www.TheSunDevils.com.
