SALINAS, Calif. - The Arizona State women's golf team is tied for sixth place after the first round of play at the Spartan Invitational hosted by San Jose State University at the 6,010-yard, par-72 Corral de Tierra Country Club. The Sun Devils shot a combined 15-over 303 during the opening 18 holes of the tournament with freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) leading the way at a one-over-par 73, putting her in a tie for 10th.
Tavee shot a 36 on the front nine and a 37 on the back for her first round total. Sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.) and freshman Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) are tied for 19th at three-over (75), freshman Lindsay Anderson (El Paso, Texas) is tied for 52nd at eight-over (80) while junior Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.) is tied for 75th at 12-over (84).
The second round is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday evening, daylight permitting. Action at the Spartan Invitational will be completed tomorrow. Team scores after round one are as follows:
