Men's Golfers Earn All-America Honors

ASU golfers Alejandro Canizares and Chez Reavie have received national awards from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Canizares received the Outback Steakhouse Arnold Palmer Award, given to the NCAA medalist, along with three more honors.

He was also recognized as the Pride/Softspikes Freshman of the Year, and was named to both the PING All-America Team and the Softspikes All-Freshmen Team.

Canizares finished the year with an average score of 71.65 and had three top-five finishes as well three top-ten finishes. He won the 2003 NCAA Championship with a 1-under par 287 at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla.

Reavie earned honorable mention All-American for the second time in his career, and was named to the PING Pacific All-Region Team. He had two top-five finishes and nine top-ten finishes to go along with a season average of 72.05. Reavie has also qualified for this week's U.S. Open.

The Arizona State Men's Golf team placed sixth in the NCAA Championships.
