Men's Golfer Jesse Mueller Ties A Karsten Course Record With A 62 At The 88th Southwest Men's Amateur

ASU's Jesse Mueller tied a Karsten Golf Course record with a second round 62 last week at the 88th Southwest Men's Amateur. The record was set in 1999 by former Sun Devil and 2000 U.S. Amateur Champion Jeff Quinney.

Quinney shot a final round 62 on April 18 en route to setting a tournament record 15-under 201 at the ASU Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational.

Mueller, who will be a junior next fall, finished the tournament tied for eighth place with rounds of 71-62-70-72 for a 14-under 274. He competed in 10 tournaments during the school season and had two top-ten finishes. Mueller had a 73.97 stroke average.

Teammate Kendall Critchfield, who will also be a junior, tied for twelfth place with a 10-under 278 after shooting rounds of 69-69-73-67. He played in seven tournaments and had a 74 stroke average.
