Men's Golf Ranked Tenth In Latest Poll

The Arizona State men's golf team has moved up to tenth in the Golfstat.com rankings as it gets ready for the NCAA Championships May 27-30 in Stillwater, Okla.

The Sun Devils are also ranked 16th in the Golfweek poll, as freshman Alejandro Canizares is ranked 23rd, while Chez Reavie, the 2001 U.S. Public Links champion, is ranked 38th. Canizares has a 71.64 stroke average, the best by a freshman in ASU history.

ASU is the only Pac-10 team to win the NCAA men's golf championship in the past eight years, as it won the 1996 title and also won the 1990 title. Other Pac-10 teams to win the NCAA Men's Golf Championship are: Stanford (1938, 1939, 1941, 1942, 1946, 1953 and 1994), UCLA (1988) and Arizona (1992).
