The Pac-10 Tournament champion Arizona State University's women's basketball team (24-8) will face eighth-seeded Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Region Saturday, March 16 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn.

Game times will be set on Monday, while No. 1 seed and host team Vanderbilt (27-6) will take on No. 16 seed Oakland (17-13) 30 minutes after the conclusion of Arizona State's game with Wisconsin.

For the ninth-seeded Sun Devils, who earned the Pac-10's automatic NCAA berth by knocking off second-ranked Stanford in the championship game of the Pac-10 Tournament, this year's NCAA Tournament appearance marks their second straight invitation to the "Big Dance." It is just the second time in school history that the Sun Devils have earned back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances with the last time coming in 1982 and 1983 when the team advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in both seasons.

With a win in their first-round game, ASU would take on the winner of the Vanderbilt-Oakland game on Monday, March 18 at 7:36 p.m. Central Time (6:36 p.m. Mountain) on ESPN2.

Ticket information can be obtained by calling the Sun Devil athletic ticket office tomorrow at 480/965-2381, beginning at 8:30 a.m. MT.

With a 24-8 record this season, the Sun Devils are just one win shy of the school record for victories in a season, which was set by the 1981-82 NCAA Sweet Sixteen team with a 25-7 mark. This season marks the sixth 20-win season in school history, while the team has notched the Sun Devils' first back-to-back 20-win campaigns in 20 years.

All of ASU's NCAA Tournament games can be heard live on XTRA 910 AM or via the internet at www.thesundevils.com.
