Baseball To Raffle Off 1998 College World Series Jersey's As Part Of Shirt Off Your Back Day On Sunday

May 19, 2001

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The No. 18 Arizona State Sun Devil baseball team will be playing its last home game of the season Sunday at 1 p.m. at Packard Stadium against the UCLA Bruins. To commemorate the last home game for seven Sun Devil seniors, the ASU baseball program will be raffling off the 1998 home baseball jersey's that were worn in the 1998 College World Series as part of "Shirt Off Your Back Day."

Jersey's from the 25 players that will be dressing for the home season finale, in addition to the entire coaching staff will be raffled off after the game. Fans in attendance can buy raffle tickets for $5 each or four for $20. Last year, when the program raffled off their "Sunday Gold" jersey's, $2,500 was raised for facility improvements and team use.

"This is a unique opportunity for our fans to bring home a piece of game worn memorabilia. Whether the fans wear the jersey to future games or display it in their home, this is a special reminder of our 2001 season, " said ASU Baseball Operations Intern Graham Rossini.
