Following is the 2001 Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic team, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Arizona State's Shawn Redhage earned the honor for the first time in his career. Redhage, a sophomore construction science major, has a 3.28 grade point average.
The Sun Devil men's hoops team had one of its best semesters last fall. Seven Sun Devils posted at least a 3.0 grade point average and the 14 players on the team had a 2.7 grade point average.
Redhage is the third Sun Devil to earn the honor. Matt Anderson earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors in 1990-91 and Bobby Lazor earned the honor twice, in 1997-98 and 1998-99.
