Arizona State sophomore second baseman Brooks Conrad has been named Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week for May 8-14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Conrad, from Spring Valley, Calif., went 9-for-15 (.600) with 12 RBI and eight runs scored in ASU sweep over Washington. Conrad notched five extra-base hits for the series, including a towering homerun over the green monster in centerfield on Sunday afternoon. He becomes only the 18th player to hit a home run over the green monster at Packard Stadium. He collected 17 total bases for the weekend and posted a 1.133 slugging percentage as well as a .647 on-base percentage. He was perfect in the field with four putouts and seven assists.
The Player of the Week honor is the second for Conrad this season and his career and the 61st all-time for Arizona State.
