PRINCETON, N.J. - The Georgia Tech men's golf team is the top-ranked team in the fifteenth edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. The MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, which are administered by the College Golf Foundation and compiled by Golfstat in cooperation with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), are determined by a computerized system based strictly on performance during the 1999-2000 collegiate golf season.
The MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, the official rankings of the Rolex Collegiate Tour, will be released a total of 19 times throughout the 1999-2000 college golf season. The next date for release of the men's rankings will be Wednesday, May 24th, while the next edition of the women's ranking will be released next week, on Wednesday, May 17th.
Georgia Tech, which has won four Rolex Collegiate Tour events so far this season, is the top-ranked men's team in the MasterCard Rankings for the eleventh consecutive week. The Yellow Jackets have won three tournaments so far this spring - including the Compaq U.S. Collegiate Golf Championship last month. Clemson, which held the top spot in the MasterCard Rankings the entire fall, is ranked second. Oklahoma State, which won the Big 12 Conference Championship last month, is ranked No. 3. Georgia, which has won three tournaments so far this year including the SEC Championship, is ranked No. 4. Rounding out the top five is No. 5 Arizona State, which has won four events this year, including the Pac-10 Championship.
Luke Donald of Northwestern, who has won three Rolex Collegiate Tour events so far this season, is the top-ranked men's individual for the fifth consecutive week. Donald, who was named the Rolex College Golfer of the Month in September, held the top spot in the rankings the entire fall. Matt Kuchar of Georgia Tech, who held the top spot earlier this spring, is ranked second. Rounding out the top five individuals are Jess Daley of Northwestern, ranked No. 3, Bryce Molder of Georgia Tech, ranked No. 4, and Paul Casey of Arizona State, ranked No. 5.

The rest of the top men's teams in each district are as follows: Rhode Island (District I), Penn State (District II), Georgia (District III-South), Northwestern (District IV), Oklahoma State (District V), Houston (District VI), Brigham Young (District VII) and Arizona State (District VIII).
Luke Donald of Northwestern, the top-ranked men's individual in the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, is the top-ranked individual in District IV. Other top-ranked individuals representing other districts include: Jim Salinetti of Rhode Island (District I), Alex Rocha of Mississippi State (District III-South), Charles Howell of Oklahoma State (District V), Andy Sanders of Houston (District VI), Andy Miller of Brigham Young (District VII) and Paul Casey of Arizona State (District VIII).
