Tempe, Ariz. -- The Arizona State volleyball team fell to Baylor in the first match of the Aston's Imua Wahine Volleyball Challenge in Honolulu. Game scores versus the Bears were 15-11, 11-15, 6-15, 14-16.
Junior outside hitter Amanda Burbridge led the Devils with 20 kills and 16 digs. Freshman outside hitter Jami Coughlin also contributed with 17 kills and nine digs.
Defensively, senior middle blocker Shawna Vanley paced the Sun Devils with one block solo and six block assists.
Junior setter Jolynn Faatulu finished the game with a .500 attack percentage ( six kills in 10 attempts), 51 assists and eight digs.
The Sun Devils are now 3-2 on the season, 0-1 in the tournament.
ASU plays two more games in the challenge, today against Bradley at 8 p.m. MST and Saturday against No. 13 Hawaii at 10 p.m. MST.
The Sun Devils travel to Washington to take on the Huskies and the Cougars before returning home on Sept. 25, when they play California at 7:30 p.m.
