Who is eligible to tryout?
You must be an ASU student to be eligible to become Sparky. Undergraduates must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours and Graduates must be enrolled in minimum of 6 credit hours.
Is this a paid position?
Each Sparky receives two stipends during the academic year, one in the fall and another in the spring. In addition to the stipends, we offer mileage reimbursement for appearances that require travel.
Is there a scholarship available?
No, as stated above, we offer stipends and reimbursements instead of scholarships.
What is the time commitment?
On average, expect to commit roughly eigtht (8) hours a week to practices, appearances, meetings, travel, etc. This fluctuates based on certain times in the year and requirements for certain sports. Please keep this in mind if you are/or planning on working, having an internship, involved in Greek Life, etc.
