Softball Gains 12th Trip to Women's College World Series

- Katie Burkhart fanned 10 and allowed only one run on the night with Mindy Cowles hitting her 17th home run of the season and Jessica Mapes going 2-for-3 with two runs scored as the Sun Devil Softball team earned their 12th trip to the Women's College World Series with a 5-1 win over Florida State in Game Two of the Tempe Super Regional Saturday night. The Sun Devils head to with a 52-13 record while ending 's season at 44-30.

The game remained deadlocked until the fourth as ASU capitalized on two Seminole errors as Kim Zadrozny gained first after being hit by a pitch followed with a single up the middle from Jessica Mapes and an intentional walk loaded the bases with no outs. With errors from the Seminole shortstop and catcher, Delenah Langley and Jessica Mapes both scored to give ASU a 2-0 lead.

The Devils took advantage of another FSU misstep in the fifth as a lead-off single from Jessica Mapes followed with Kaitlin Cochran gaining first after being hit by a pitch were both plated after a throwing error by the Seminole third baseman pushing ASU up 4-0.
