After carding a one-under 287 on Saturday, the seventh-ranked Arizona State University women's golf team is in second place heading into the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational, being held April 1-3 at the par 72, 6,230-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course.
ASU, which is looking to win its own event for the first time since 1999, stands alone in second place, four strokes behind tournament leader UCLA with a two-day total of six-over 582 (295-287). The Bruins hold the tournament lead with a two-round total of 578, while Pepperdine and California are tied for third at 17-over 593. Washington is in fifth place with a two-round total of 598.
Individually, ASU freshman Louise Stahle continues to lead the field, carding a four-under 68 on Saturday for a two-round total of six-under 138. Stahle, who is in position to win the second tournament of her young career, holds a two-stroke advantage over UCLA's Susie Mathews (70-70=140).
ASU sophomore Tiffany Tavee shot a one-under 71 on Saturday and is tied for sixth at one-over 145 (74-71), while senior Erin Tone is tied for 10th at two-over 146 (74-72). Junior Alissa Kuczka is tied for 41st (77-76=153), while sophomore Charmaine Erasmus stands in a tie for 61st (78-78=156). Sun Devil individuals include freshman Brooke Todare who is tied for 28th at six-over 150 (75-75), sophomore Lindsay Anderson who stands in a tie for 40th (79-74) and senior Nicole Deacon who is tied for 77th (81-80=161).
The PING/ASU Invitational concludes on Sunday with final-round tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Sun Devils will tee off at 8:58 a.m. on Sunday morning.
