Fairfax, Calif.?Junior Max Rottluff took home the individual title at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Tuesday after shooting a 1-under 70 in the final round of play. Rottluff was 9-under 204 (68-66-70) through three rounds and finished two strokes ahead of Oregon State’s Tyler Collier. ?Throughout the tournament, Rottluff was 8-under on par-5 holes.

After leading the 16-team field through 36 holes, the Arizona State men’s golf team slipped to a second-place finish overall.? With an 11-under 841 (271-278-292), the Sun Devils were just two strokes back from host Cal, which nabbed the team title with a 13-under 839.?
With winds gusting at 22 miles per hour, the final round proved to be a tough one for Arizona State.? Rottluff, who carded his second eagle of the tournament on Tuesday, was the only Sun Devil to finish under par in third round action.?

? ASUmensgolf (@asumensgolf) October 15, 2014Sophomore Ki Taek Lee struggled to find his rhythm at the start, carding three bogeys and a double bogey on the front nine.? Lee shot a 4-over 75 in the final round, combining for a 1-under 212 (67-70-75) overall.? ?
Despite the gusting winds, senior Mathias Schjoelberg was consistent throughout 54 holes, shooting an even par 213 (71-71-71).? Schjoelberg climbed the individual leader board from 30th to 15th in the final round.
Junior Alberto Sanchez improved his score from the second round, shooting a 5-over 76 on Tuesday.? Sanchez tied for 60th overall.? After shooting a 66 and a 71 on Monday, junior Jon Rahm recorded a 6-over 77 in the final round.? Slipping from the top 10 on the individual leader board, Rahm finished tied for 20th.
Next up, the Sun Devils head to Simi Valley, Calif., for the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by Cal State Northridge.? The tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21, at the par-72, 6,819-yard Wood Ranch Golf Club.
