Postgame Quotes

Quoting ASU head coach Charli Turner Thorne:

"This was really disappointing. We were really fired up for this team. We had a solid first half, but lacked in leadership and experience. I'm just disappointed. This is something we've obviously seen this year, but it is upsetting that we shot like that.

We've got good offensive players, but I think they have to work harder. We're at home and we're not shooting well and that is really upsetting.

Part of it (the reason for the loss) is just us rushing, it is a maturity thing. When you are experienced and mature you just take your time and hit your shots. It's amazing how tense you can be when you are down.

The bottom line is we needed to put the ball in the basket, but we made some bonehead turnovers, and hopefully we can figure out our lazy passes. We're not sharp with our passes and we need to work on it."

Quoting Oregon head coach Jody Runge:

"I'm not happy with the rebounding. The biggest thing we talked about was not letting Arizona State force us so far out from the basket. It was hard to execute on offense from standing at the sideline or out above the three-point line.

Well I think ASU was a much improved team last year and I think they've doubled that this year. I think they are playing really, really hard."

On Oregon player Natasha O'Brien:

"Tasha is a senior really trying to take a leadership role and hit the big basket. I think her and Shaq (Shaquala Williams) shooting the ball in the stretch run really made a huge impact on confidence."
