ASU CAREER: Former junior college transfer who provided a spark as a key reserve and spot starter among ASU's defensive line...totaled 42 tackles (25 solo), seven tackles-for-loss and three sacks...played all 25 games during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, starting eight...played both defensive tackle and defensive end during his career...a former junior college teammate of ASU linebacker Beau Manutai...earned Hard Hat Player honors for his work in ASU's winter strength and conditioning program both years.

2006: Played in all 13 games, with one start at defensive tackle at No. 3 USC...totaled 19 tackles (13 solo), and tied four fourth on the team with three sacks (-19 yards)...recovered a fumble against Stanford on Oct. 21...recorded a career-high six solo tackles in the season opener against Northern Arizona on Aug. 31, including a seven-yard sack of Lumberjack quarterback Jason Murrietta...totaled five tackles (three solo), including a four-yard sack of quarterback Bernard Jackson at Colorado on Sept. 16...tallied two total stops at No. 3 USC on Oct. 14...earned Hard Hat Player honors for his work in ASU's winter strength and conditioning program.

2005: Played in all 12 games, starting seven...received the Camp Tontozona scout team Most Valuable Player Award...finished the season with 23 tackles (12 solo), including three tackles for loss (minus-seven yards)...was a starter in the first four games and three of the final four contests of the season...had a season-high four total tackles on two occasions...had three total tackles (two solo) and a five-yard tackle for loss against No. 25 Oregon...registered two total tackles, including one tackle for loss against Arizona and 2005 Insight Bowl opponent Rutgers...was recognized as a Hard Hat Player for his work in ASU's winter strength and conditioning program.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: A 2004 graduate of Dixie State College in St. George, Utah...earned first-team All-Western States accolades...collected 32.5 tackles, five tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks in 10 games in 2004...was third in tackles...captained his team and helped Dixie to the Rotary Bowl championship...began his college career at Montana State University where he started at nose guard as a true freshman (2000-01)...was coached by Greg Croshaw at Dixie.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2000 graduate and three-year starter at Long Beach (Calif.) Poly High School...started two years at offensive tackle...senior year started both ways at center and defensive end...was Moore League first-team and All-C.I.F. Division I first-team as a senior...made The Long Beach Press-Telegram's Dream Team...named to The Los Angeles Times Dream Team and was SoCal first-team...Long Beach Poly was ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today during his sophomore and senior seasons...only lost one game in four years...recorded nine sacks as a senior...Poly was C.I.F. Division I Champion during his sophomore year...lost to Mater Dei High in the C.I.F. Championship as a junior... also helped his team to a C.I.F. co-championship as a senior...Poly was Moore League champions all four years he played...graduated with honors and a 3.5 grade-point average...coached by Jerry Jaso.

PERSONAL: Majoring in interdisciplinary studies (justice studies and education)...is contemplating a career as a lawyer...parents are Manisela (concrete contractor) and Eta Kofe of Long Beach, Calif....has two brothers, Benny (27) and Stanley (26), and three sisters, Pauline (21), Loseli (11) and Aida (8)... his uncle, Alfred Pupunu, played tight end for the San Diego Chargers...both of his brothers played college football (Benny at Adams State and Stanley at New Mexico)...served a two-year LDS mission to Micronesia Guam...was an Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts of America...lists basketball, volleyball and sleeping among his hobbies...born Aug. 18, 1982 in Long Beach, Calif....full name is William Pouliva'ati Kofe.
