SUN DEVIL DATA: Local product in his second season who has one of the greatest Sun Devil athletic heritage moments in his blood. His dad, Tom Kuyper, played at Arizona State from 1979-83 and was part of the team that upset top-ranked and undefeated Oregon State 87-67 on March 7, 1981, on the final day of the regular season. Tom also is the color analyst for the Sun Devils on ESPN 860 AM. A very good student-athlete. Extremely competitive and pushes the regulars in practice.
PHOENIX CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate who earned three letters in tennis, three in basketball and one in golf...a first-team All-Metro Region in his junior and senior seasons...was a tennis state champion in doubles...consistently on the honor roll...averaged 20.2 points, five assists and five boards in his senior year and 14 points, four assists and three boards in his junior year...once scored 30 in a game...coached by Mark VanSant.
ETC: Full name is Shane Thomas Kuyper...born March 21, 1987...plans on studying to become a physical therapist...father is Tom and mother is Marcia...has and older sister, Kali, and younger siblings Jace and Kamryn.
