HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Thatcher (Ariz.) High School...earned all-state and all-conference honors at running back in each of his last three seasons...was named 2002 2A MVP and championship game MVP...was also all-area MVP for 2002...averaged 11.7 yards per carry in 2001, gaining 1,446 yards on 124 carries...improved in 2002 with a 12.7 yards per carry average gaining 1,634 yards on 134 carries...also led his team with 126 tackles as a senior...set a state record with 234 rushing yards in the 2002 state championship game...was a two-time track state champion in 110m high hurdles and 300m low hurdles... earned four letters in both football and track and three in basketball...was coached by Don Conrad and Adam Estrada.
PERSONAL: Undecided on his major... parents are Terry (city manager) and Cathy of Thatcher, Ariz....his father, Terry, played running back at Eastern Arizona College, while his grandfather, Jack,, played football at ASU (running back)...lists winning back-to-back state championships as his most exciting experience in sports...hobbies include lifting weights...born July 25, 1983 in Thatcher, Ariz....full name is Jacob Sean Hinton.
