SUN DEVIL DATA: Senior who earned his degree (B.A. in sociology) in May of 2006 and is working towards obtaining his master's degree in urban and environmental planning with a concentration in international planning. Enters his fourth year with the program and comes from a very athletic family. Mother, Sandra, played basketball at the University of Houston and father, Robert, is retired from the United States Marines as E-9 Master Gunnery Sergeant after more than 21 years of service. Sidelined in the latter part of fall of 2003 with a left knee injury that required surgery. A solid track athlete in his prep career who has been nicknamed "Big Shot Rob" by teammates. Played in four games in 2004-2005 and notched 12 minutes and scored one bucket and followed that up last year by playing in 10 games. A Maroon and Gold Scholar-Athlete each of the past four semesters.
JAMES E. TAYLOR HIGH SCHOOL.: Earned three letters in basketball and also ran track for four years...coached by Ron Crandall and Anthony Armstrong in high school...an all-city and all-region and a three-time all-district selection...earned honorable mention all-state in junior and senior seasons...two-time regional finalist in 300-meter hurdles...averaged 18.3 points, 7.1 assists, 3.9 steals and 5.1 boards in senior year...graduated in May of 2002...played in Greater Houston Adidas All-Star game.
