Player Bio: Nancy Augustyniak Goffi

Nancy Augustyniak Goffi is set to begin her second season with the Arizona State University soccer program as an assistant coach. An All-American at Clemson while playing for former Sun Devil Head Coach Ray Leone and fellow assistant Tracey Leone, Augustyniak Goffi also is currently a member of the US Women's National Team Pool and participated in the WNT's first residency camp during the summer.

Augustyniak Goffi, who starred at center back for Clemson and Atlanta Beat (WUSA), will be called upon to work with a young ASU defense.

Augustyniak Goffi, a native of Peachtree, Ga., competed for the Tigers from 1997-2000 and capped her career by helping CU post a 19-3-1 record in 2000 while advancing to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Championships. As a senior, Augustyniak Goffi helped CU claim its lone regular season ACC crown and was selected both All-American and All-Southeast Region. In one of her team's biggest wins, Augustyniak Goffi scored one goal and added an assist as the Tigers upset No. 1 North Carolina, 2-1.

Augustyniak Goffi was also selected to two All-ACC teams, earning first team honors in both 1999 and 2000 while also being selected to the 1998 and 1999 All-ACC Tournament teams. One of the premier players in CU history, she was selected one of the Top 50 players in ACC history on August 14, 2002, joining her twin sister Julie and former Sun Devil assistant coach (and former Tar Heel) Tracey Leone on the elite list.

Following her collegiate playing days, Augustyniak Goffi was drafted by the Atlanta Beat of the WUSA where she played three seasons (2001, 2002 and 2003). While with the Beat, the defender helped her squad reach the finals of the league's tournament where they finished as the runners-up both times. After three seasons in Atlanta, Augustyniak Goffi took her skills over seas and competed in the highest division of soccer in Germany, the Frauen-Bundesliga, as she competed for FFC Turbine Potsdam and WfL Wolfsburg in 2004. She also competed for Stattena IF of Sweden for one half season as well in 2004. Last year, Augustyniak Goffi played in the Women's Premier Soccer League in America and helped FC Indiana secure the 2005 championship.

Augustyniak Goffi is married to Josh Goffi, a former tennis player at Clemson, and currently resides in Phoenix.
