HIGH SCHOOL: A 1998 graduate of Bonneville High School, Ogden, Utah...was named to all-region, all-area, and all-state teams in 1997...in 1996 was named all-region and honorable mention all-area...collected 85 tackles, two interceptions (one for a touchdown), two caused fumbles, five fumble recoveries, eight quarterback sacks and six pass deflections as a senior...as a junior, he collected 92 tackles, three interceptions (two for scores), three caused fumbles, four fumble recoveries and five sacks...also earned honorable mention all-region in basketball during 1996 season...scored a career-high 34 points, collected seven rebounds, seven steals and seven blocked shots in one game.
PERSONAL: Has earned his bachelor's degree in communications ... parents are John (marketing agent) and Lenora (teacher)......has four brothers and two sisters...his father, two uncles, and a cousin all played college baseball...lists his best individual performance in one game was 11 tackles, two sacks, and the winning interception for a touchdown...full name is Mason Douglas Unck.
