ASU: One of the fastest players on the team … good athletic ability … plays in the nickle and dime packages … competing for playing time in 1999 against several cornerback candidates. 1998: Posted three assists in the season opener against Washington … recorded one solo tackle and one assist in ASU’s 34-15 win over North Texas … also posted one tackle for a five-yard loss, the first of his career … intercepted Jason Attaway at the ASU 23 to end the first half … was his first career interception … also had one pass deflection … recorded a career-high five solo tackles in a starting role in the Sun Devils’ 24-3 rout of Oregon State … also forced Terrance Bryant to fumble at the OSU 33 on first and 10 in the fourth quarter … posted two solo tackles at USC … tallied two assists against Notre Dame … also had one pass deflection on an Irish fourth and five in the third quarter … recorded one solo tackle, one assist and one tackle for a one-yard loss in the Sun Devils’ 44-38 overtime victory over Stanford … posted one solo tackle in ASU’s 38-28 win at Washington State … had an assist in the Sun Devils’ 55-22 rout of California … tallied one solo tackle and one fumble recovery at Oregon … posted three solo tackles and one assist in a starting role at Arizona.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 1995 graduate of Esperanza High School, Anaheim, Calif.… was a 1994-95 BlueChip Illustrated Preseason all-American… selected to the 1994-95 all-state, all-C.I.F., all-North County and all-Sunset League teams… named all-Orange County by The Orange County Register… earned all-state kudos by Student Sports Magazine… collected 33 tackles and four interceptions in 1994… was the Sunset League’s Defensive Back-of-the-Year… had nine career interceptions… in 1994, returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown against Long Beach Polytechnic High… as a sophomore, was Esperanza’s Rookie-of-the-Year and returned an interception 84 yards for a touchdown against Cypress High School… as a junior, he returned an interception 47 yards for a score versus Mater Dei High… also returned an interception 97 yards for a score against Sunny Hill High School… had two interceptions versus all-star receiver Brad Melsby of Los Alamitos in 1994-95… holds the Esperanza High record for blocked punts with four in 1992-93… Esperanza was the 1992-93 C.I.F. Division II Champions… in 1994, he was the Orange County long jump champion with a leap of 23 feet and also was the Empire League long jump champion… his 400-meter relay squad placed first in the state in 1993… was selected all-Empire League in track and field as a sophomore, junior and senior… lettered three times in football and four times in track and field.

PERSONAL: Major is interdisciplinary studies… parents are Lawrence (teacher) and Hazael (teacher) Clark of Yorba Linda, Calif.… born November 28, 1976 in Bellflower, Calif.… cousin is NFL legend Earl Campbell… lists his most exciting experience in sports as signing his letter of intent with Arizona State University… full name is Kareem Jarreau Clark.
