Player Bio: Jamie Dantzscher



One of the finest collegiate athletes of all time, Jamie Dantzscher became an assistant coach for John Spini in August of 2008. The 2004 UCLA graduate brings to Tempe a dynamic personality and impressive athletic resume. Her primary coaching responsibilities are on the balance beam and floor exercise.

A six-year national team member, Dantzscher was a member of Team USA for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Dantzscher moved on to have a stellar career at UCLA. Dantzscher was a four-time individual NCAA National Champion while at UCLA and helped lead the Bruins to three NCAA Championships in four years. Dantzscher won the all-around, vault and floor at NCAAs in her sophomore season at UCLA and was the 2003 co-bars champion. She holds the NCAA record of 28 perfect 10s and is the first and only gymnast to have scored a 10.0 in her first-ever collegiate routine.

Dantzscher has been a club coach for the past seven years. Prior to coming to ASU, she coached at Diamond Elite Gymnastics in Chino, Calif., and has also worked at Club Champion in Pasadena. She has also coached at numerous summer camps.
