Player Bio: Greg Gifford

Fresno State: Competed for the Bulldogs for three seasons before FSU discontinued its program following the 2005-06 season...wrestled at 184 pounds for FSU, advancing to the NCAA Championships twice...at the national tournament, went 0-2 in 2004 (did not place) and 1-2 in 2006 (did not place)...complied a three-year record of 68-31 and led the team with 30 victories in 2005-06...won four championships, including two All-California Tournament titles (2004, 2006) and the 2002 Fullerton Open...won the 2006 Western Region Championships after placing third as a freshman and second as a sophomore...earned academic honors from the NWCA in 2005-06.

High School: A graduate of Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nev....twice won the Nevada state championship...also was a high school All-American in 2002...honorable mention All-America by Wrestling USA...finished his career with a 136-24 record...combined to go 80-1 in his junior and senior seasons...his 80-1 mark is one of the best in LVHS history...all 80 of those victories came by major decision or better...earned all-league honors in football as an offensive lineman...lettered four times in wrestling and twice in football...captained both teams.

Personal: Majoring in construction management...parents are Ed and Kathy Gifford...has three siblings: brothers Eddy and Chris and sister Jamie...brother Eddy wrestled for Fresno State from 1998-03 and brother Chris wrestled at Fresno State in 2004-05...born September 4, 1984, in Gilroy, Calif....full name is Gregory Scott Gifford.
