The 2003 season marks George Wynn's fifth year as Director of Football Operations at Arizona State. Wynn's duties include assisting Dirk Koetter with public and community relations, team travel and coordination of the Sun Devil football camps. In addition, he assists with all day-to-day operations of the ASU football program.
Wynn gained experience in this area of athletic administration as Regional Marketing Director for the Harlem Globetrotters from March 1996 to June 1999. Based in Phoenix, Wynn coordinated and managed the Globetrotters' daily schedule and itinerary and developed relationships with business partners in 30 regional markets. He also developed and implemented a public relations campaign within his region, and oversaw the team's summer camps and clinics.
Prior to his work with the Globetrotters, Wynn served as a compliance services intern at the NCAA from 1995-96. While in Overland Park, Kan., he assisted with the administration of required forms and distributed resource materials to NCAA institutions. While working toward his master's degree in sports management at the University of Georgia in 1994 and 1995, Wynn served as a graduate assistant in the athletic department's academic services and assisted with the implementation of football recruiting functions.
Wynn received his B.A. in criminal justice from Georgia where he was a three-year starter at cornerback for the Bulldogs from 1989-91. He was a team captain his senior season and earned SEC All-Academic Team honors for his diligence in the classroom.
Wynn then took his game to the pro level, where he started at cornerback for the CFL's Saskatchewan RoughRiders in 1992 before deciding to pursue a career in sports administration.
He is married to the former Leesha Hadley. The couple has one son, Royce.
