SUN DEVIL DATA: Signed with Christian Polk in the fall of 2005 and comes to ASU with a good frame and weight in just his freshman season. Runs the floor well and joins fellow Texans Allen Morill (Arlington) and Robby Alridge (Katy) on the roster. The fifth Sun Devil from Texas in the past nine seasons with 2004-2005 Pac-10 Player of the Year Ike Diogu (Garland, 2002-2005) being the headliner. TexasHoops.com ranked his as the fourth-best power forward in the state and Rivals.com had him as high as 16th on its Texas list after starting the season as No. 21. Also in Rivals.com top 150 (No. 133). A consistent member of the National Honor Society in high school who loves computers.
HIGH SCHOOL: A first-team all-state pick in 2005-06...was averaging 24 points and 11 boards in senior year before Achilles injury slowed him...ended season at 18 points and nine boards per game...scored 41 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in Dec. 17 overtime victory over Carter, including hitting two free throws with six seconds left to force overtime and then scored six of 11 points in the extra stanza...had 19 points and 11 boards the night before (Dec. 16) in 70-54 win over Lancaster...averaged 19.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and two blocks per game in his junior season playing for coach former North Texas player Royce Johnson...earned All-District 13 (4A) and All-Region II first-team honors and second-team All-Metro.
