2008: Played in five games as a reserve defensive tackle...saw action in team's season-opening wins over NAU on Aug. 30 and Stanford on Sept. 6, and then played in final three games of the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Ariz....earned first-team all-region defensive tackle honors for his junior and senior seasons...was second-team all-state for his junior year and first-team all-state for his senior year...lettered three years each in football and wrestling...was team captain for football during his senior season and for wrestling during both his junior and senior seasons...won 5A heavyweight wrestling state championship as a senior in 2005...was region champion in wrestling for his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
PERSONAL: Majoring in communication at ASU...parents are Dave and Diane Bertrand of Scottsdale, Ariz....has one sister, Chrissy...born Jan. 21, 1987 in Phoenix, Ariz....full name is David Jordan Bertrand.
