Player Bio: Colette Meek



ASU: Set the ASU freshman record for blocks per game (1.09) in 2004... continues to improve the middle blocker position for ASU... has an excellent vertical leap and is learning to be more aggressive on the court... has competed for the Canadian Junior National Teams in both volleyball and basketball.

2006 (Junior): Named to the All Pac-10 All-Academic Team...saw action in 26 matches, starting 20 of them...averaged 1.25 kills per game, including a season-high 11 against Purdue (9/2)...had seven blocks against Cal (9/29) and six against Michigan State (9/8) and (Stanford (9/30)...had 12 games with three or more blocks.

2005 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 28 matches, starting 17 of them...averaged 1.79 kills per game, including 15 against Oregon State (9/24)...had six blocks at Tulane (9/18)...also blocked six shots at Washington State (10/1)...had four matches with ten or more kills...tallied ten matches with three or more blocks...

2004 (Freshman): Named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team... saw action in all 27 matches and made 25 starts at the middle blocker position... averaged 1.20 blocks per game to break the ASU freshman record for blocks per game (1.09 set in 1996 by Laura Hibsman) and became the first Sun Devil to average over 1.00 blocks per game since 1998...ranked third on the team averaging 2.27 kills per game while hitting at a team-best .296 clip... ranked fifth in the Pac-10 with 1.20 blocks per game... led all freshmen in the Pac-10 with 1.14 blocks per game in league play... recorded three or more blocks in 18 of 27 matches and five or more blocks in seven matches... recorded seven matches with 10 or more kills... tallied 14 kills on career-high .571 hitting percentage in three-game sweep of Oregon (11/5)... named to the all-tournament team at the Ocean National Bank Invitational... recorded 15 kills (.538) and five total blocks against New Hampshire (9/4)... had 14 kills (.429) and nine blocks against Cal State Fullerton (9/18) for a career-high 20.5 points... also had nine blocks against Oregon State (10/9).

High School: A 2004 graduate of Salisbury Composite High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta... earned two varsity letters in volleyball and three in basketball... coached in volleyball by Alison Merrick and on the hardwood by Jim Lazaruk... played two years of club volleyball for the NAVC (North Alberta Volleyball Club) Gold Pandas... helped the Gold Pandas to the Alberta Provincial Championship and a fourth place finish at the Canadian Juvenile Nationals... named the 2004 Alberta 4A All-Province Female Basketball Player of the Year... two-time all-city basketball selection and also all-city volleyball selection... MVP of Edmonton Basketball League in 2004... helped Salisbury to league championships in volleyball in 2002 and 2003.

Personal: Is a double major in Psychology and French... was a scholar athlete in high school and was three times named her high school's Female Athlete of the Year... parents are Gary and Helen Meek of Sherwood Park, Alberta... has three sisters, Heidi, Luisa and Sarah, and one brother, Allen... her mother swam at BYU and her sister, Sarah, was a middle blocker at the University of Idaho... Sarah was a two-time first-team All-Big West selection... enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends and listening to music... born July 25, 1986 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
