Clarissa enters her third season on the Sun Devil Softball squad after a 2008 season which saw her serve as a utility in both the outfield and as a pinch-runner. Almost always the go-to player on the base paths, Clarissa scored 17 runs on the season while adding two stolen bases to her stats. While Clarissa found success on the field, she also excelled in the classroom. As a Presidential Scholarship recipient out of high school, Clarissa is a pre-med major who was admitted into and completed a research program called MARC to do nueroscience research through the 2007-2008 year.
Clarissa was a 2006 graduate of Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Ariz., where during her senior season she recorded 43 steals and a stellar .428 batting average. Andorfer-Lopez also garnered many honors during her senior season including being named to the 2006 All State Team and 2006 All Star Team. She was also a back-to-back recipient of first team All Fiesta Region and first team All City honors in 2005 and 2006. Furthermore, Andorfer-Lopez was an accomplished student noted by her membership in the National Honor Society and was also named Who's-Who Among American Students. She earned 6 varsity letters; three for softball and three for volleyball.
Andorfer-Lopez was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on December 13, 1987 to Gary (Business Owner) and Matilde (Homemaker) Andorfer. She is one of seven children; Jeremy (25), Nataly (23), Leilani (22), Caterina (20), Angelee (16), and Benjamin (10). She is a Pre-Med major with hopes of one day becoming a doctor.
