Player Bio: Chris McKenzie



ASU: Speedy player who started 20 games in his two seasons in Tempe...was the most consistent and improved cornerback in the spring and in his final season...one of the fastest players on the team¬.

2004: Started in all 12 games for the Sun Devils...recorded a career-high 42 tackles with 35 of them being solo stops...averaged 3.5 tackles per contest...finished the year with a team-best seven pass breakups...set a career high with six unassisted tackles in ASU's Oct. 2 win at Oregon...also tied his career best with six tackles in an Oct. 23 win over UCLA...broke up two passes Nov. 13 vs. Washington State and again in the Sun Bowl vs. Purdue...had his lone interception of the season in a Nov. 6 win against Stanford...also had his first career half-sack vs. the Cardinal.

2003: Played in 12 games, starting eight... collected 39 tackles (26 solo)...had one tackle for loss...had two interceptions, four pass breakups and a forced fumble...tallied a career-best six tackles (four solo) Sept. 13 vs. Utah State...collected a career-high five solo tackles Sept. 20 at Iowa...also broke up a pass vs. the Hawkeyes... also matched his career high with six tackles Oct. 4 vs. USC... intercepted a pass and returned it 23 yards Oct. 11 vs. Oregon... forced a fumble at North Carolina on Oct. 18 in addition to collecting two solo tackles...grabbed his second interception of the season Nov. 15 at at Washington State...also broke up two pass plays and notched three tackles vs. the Cougars... collected five tackles and a pass breakup Nov. 28 against Arizona.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: A 2003 graduate of Glendale (Ariz.) Community College....rated as the No. 87 junior college player in the nation by SuperPrep Magazine...listed in PrepStar's Top 125 junior college players in the nation...first-team All-American by the NJCAA...selected second-team all-American by JC Gridwire...rated as the No. 46 overall junior college prospect in the country...was the Region 1 Player of the Year and Region MVP on defense...made first-team all-conference at Glendale as a sophomore...also made first-team all-region...was nominated for junior college player of the year...was the Defensive MVP for the team...collected two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown...also had three fumble recoveries (two for touchdowns), two forced fumbles and two quarterback sacks...had one interception for a touchdown as a freshman at Glendale..."Chris is the fastest football player I've ever seen," said Glendale College head coach Joe Kersting..."He may be the fastest player in football on any college level. We have timed him in the 4.1s in the 40-yard dash"...can vertical jump 40 inches...originally from Queens, N.Y....position coach at Glendale was Mickey Bell, former high school coach of Sun Devils Lamar Baker and Mike Talbot at Agua Fria High School.
