ASU: Hard-working catcher who Murphy predicts will win some games for ASU in 2002... has been a solid team player throughout his ASU career and will help the Devils behind the plate.

2001 (Junior): Played in 17 games as ASU's reserve catcher... went 2-for-7 at the plate (.286) with four RBI and one walk... was 1-for-1 with career-high three RBI at New Mexico State (4/17)... only other hit of the year came vs. Oral Roberts (3/6).

Junior College: Attended Arizona Western College in Yuma, Ariz. from 1997-99 ... coached by John Stratton and Larry Nowlin ... team finished as regular season Co-Champions in 1999.

High School: A 1997 graduate of Yuma High School in Yuma, Ariz.... coached by Larry Nowlin... three-year letterwinner... captained baseball team his junior and senior seasons... all-city selection in '96 and '97... team MVP his junior year... second-team all-conference in '96... hit .404 his junior season... during the summer of '97 hit .520 in a state tournament down in Mexico.

Personal: Majoring in secondary education... parents are Miguel and Gloria Castillo of Yuma, Ariz.... has three brothers, Michael (24), Edgar (13) and Adam (7) and two sisters, Rene (17) and Cindy (16) ... born June 26, 1979 in Yuma, Ariz.... enjoys playing racquetball and pool ... full name is Cesar Adrian Castillo.
