Originally an in-state product, Brooke returns to her home state last saeson after transferring after two seasons at Texas Tech University. In her first season representing the Maroon & Gold, Brooke hit .179 on the year with three runs scored and four driven in. Occasionally taking over the hot corner at third, Brooke's glove proved flawless, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. A versatile athlete that can play numerous infield positions, Brooke also poses a threat at the plate. While at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, Brooke helped lead the Red Raiders to a second place finish in the Big 12 Tournament in 2007.
Before leaving Arizona for Texas, Nueman was a Mesquite High School Wildcat where she lettered in softball all four years of her career, where she captained the squad in 2005. Her high school accolades include being named MVP in 2002 and winning the Wildcat Pride award in 2004 and 2005, Second Team All-Fiesta Region 2002 and 2003, First Team All-Fiesta Region 2004 and 2005. He high school team also claimed four Fiesta Region first place finishes. Brooke lists her most exciting moment in sports as hitting a grand slam in her first college at-bat at Texas Tech. A solid student as well, Brooke was a member of National Honor Society and an Academic Golden Scholar 2001-2005 as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Texas Tech.
The psychology major was born on April 2, 1987 in Chandler, Ariz. to Dave (Law Enforcement) and Mary (Swim Instructor) Neuman and is the younger sister to Lindsay (24). Her mother and sister also played college softball with her mother competing for Waldorf and her sister Lindsay at Mesa Community College from 2003-2005. Her full name is Brooke Leigh Anne Neuman and hopes to pursue a career in sport psychology.
