Brent Aldridge enters his third year as a part of the Sun Devil family as Assistant Coach to Jason Watson . Aldridge was also the assistant to Watson for three years at Brigham Young University from 2005-2007. In his first two years at ASU, Aldridge focused on defense and middles for the Maroon & Gold, helping to lead them to be not only one of the best blocking teams in the Pac-10 but also in the NCAA. In the 2009 season, ASU finished third in the Pac-10 with a 2.74 blocks per set average as well as ranking 13th in the entire NCAA with that average, a huge achievement in only two years.

During his tenure at BYU, Aldridge helped the Cougars to a 74-18 (.804) overall record in three seasons, including the 2005 Mountain West Conference regular season title as well as back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

Previous to coaching at BYU, Aldridge coached at the college, high school and club levels for 14 years, two of those seasons as head coach at Saint Mary's College.

While an assistant at the University of New Mexico in 2002-04 the Lobos set the school's single-season block assist record under Aldridge's instruction as defensive coordinator in 2002.

Prior to joining the Lobos, Aldridge was the defensive and recruiting coordinator at Northern Arizona University, where he improved the Lumberjack's blocking average to 2.70 per game up from their previous 2.38 per game. They were the program's highest in 10 years.

In 1999 and 2000 Aldridge was the head coach of St. Mary's college in Leavenworth, KS, a NAIA Division II program. He essentially built the volleyball program from scratch in two seasons. Further experience at the collegiate level includes being an assistant coach at his alma mater University of South Dakota from 1994-95.

Aldridge's high school experience includes the head coach at Valley High School in Nebraska, and assistant coach at Harris-Lake Park High School in Iowa. In addition to high school experience Aldridge has coached at 13 different club level volleyball camps in the Great Plains area.

Aldridge is a native of Spirit Lake, Iowa and graduated from University of South Dakota in 1992 with a bachelor's in education. He and his wife, Mary, have two children.
