Player Bio: Amanda Burbridge :: Women's Volleyball



 

ASU:Finished her career ranked third with 1,597 career kills, including a school record 599 during her senior season in 2000... also ranks 11th with 1,060 career digs... is one of only eight players with 1,000 digs and kills in a career in ASU history... 2001 Pac-10 medal award winner... two-time Academic All-American... 2000 VolleyCentral.com co-National Player of the Year... led ASU in kills in three of her four years as a Sun Devil.

2000 (Senior): Finished her senior regular season with a bang, recording 26 kills vs. Arizona (11/18)… ranked second in the Pac-10 and seventh in the NCAA with 5.55 kills per game…recorded three matches over 30 kills in 2000, including two 30-20 matches… turned in a record breaking weekend vs. Washington State and Washington (10/20-21)… had 39 kills vs. WSU to break the 18-year-old school record of 35, and followed that with 38 more vs. UW the next night… was honored as the Pac-10 and AVCA/Sports Imports National Player of the Week with her 77-kill performance… she recorded 21 double-doubles in ’00 and had at least 20 kills in 18 matches… she has yet to have a match with less than double-digit kills and has recorded 20 or more digs six times… her 39 kills vs. WSU ranks as the fourth most in Pac-10 history… Burbridge was named a first-team all-Pac-10 selection for the second straight year, becoming only the second Sun Devil in history to earn that award more than once… second-team all-Pac-10 academic selection and District VIII Verizon Academic All-American… became only the 16th player in Pac-10 history to pass the 1,500-kill, 1,000 dig mark in a career… 12th player in ASU history to pass 1,000 digs in a career and 26th player in Pac-10 history to go over 1,500 kills in a career… team captain… broke the ASU single-season record for kills (563), breaking the old record of 555… second among active Pac-10 players in career kills behind UCLA’s Kristee Porter.

1999 (Junior): 1999 first-team Pac-10 All-Conference selection ... first-team Pac-10 All-Academic ... second-team GTE Academic All-District VIII selection ... started in all 27 matches for the Devils ... ranked fourth in the league in kills per game (4.20) ... second on the squad averaging 2.65 digs per game ... notched double-digits in kills in 23 of 27 matches ... had 11 double-doubles on the year ... tallied a season-high 29 kills vs. Southwest Texas (9/5) ... notched 25 kills and a season-high 20 digs vs. California (11/11) ... averaged 0.72 blocks per game as well as 0.29 service aces per game ... second on team with 28 service aces.

1998 (Sophomore): Played and started in all 25 matches ... led the team in kills with 456 (4.65 kpg) ...finished fifth in the conference in kills per game ... hit over .200 for the season (.204) ... second on the squad in service aces with 21 on the year (0.21 per game) ... averaged 2.72 digs per game and finished second in total digs with 267 ... named to the Wahine Classic All-Tournament team ... finished ranked 10th in the league in digs per game ... recorded a career- and season-high 34 kills vs. Washington (9/18) ... her single-match kill total of 34 was the second-most in school history ... notched a season-high 19 digs vs. Arizona (11/16) ... All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection ... set a career-high with seven block assists vs. the Wildcats (11/16) ... had her first collegiate triple-double vs. U of A with 10 blocks, 23 kills and 19 digs ... recorded double figures in kills in 23 of 25 matches ... notched double figures in digs on 12 occasions ...
