Pat's Run Traffic Information

Event:

14th Annual Pat’s Run — a 4.2 mile run/walk celebrating the legacy of former NFL player Pat Tillman who died in April 2004 serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. The main event held in the parking lot around Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ will feature a .42 mile Kids Run for kids age 12 and under and a Race Day Expo.

Street Closure times:

5 a.m. - 11 a.m. (Roads will open as runners clear the roadways)

Street Closures:

  • Scottsdale and 202 e/b Off Ramp
  • Scottsdale and 202 w/b to s/b off Ramp (w/b to n/b open)
  • Scottsdale and 202 w/b on Ramp
  • Scottsdale and 202 e/b on Ramp
  • Scottsdale and Curry s/b (local traffic only up to Gilbert, no access to freeway)
  • University and Rural n/b - all n/b traffic will directed e/b or w/b on University
  • College and Curry w/b and s/b - access to Papago condos & Apt’s on Gilbert can be made off Gilbert at Scottsdale. Access to Vela Apt. or Marina from this location.
  • Mill and Curry e/b
    • Local traffic allowed to Hayden Ferry, Marina Heights, State Farm, Salt, AC Hotel, and Best Western will be allowed.
  • Mill and Curry s/b
    • Local traffic allowed to Hayden Ferry, Marina Heights, State Farm, Salt, AC Hotel, and Best Western, will be allowed.
  • Rio and Ash Closed
  • Mill and 3rd n/b
  • Mill and 5th n/b local traffic only up to 3rd
  • Hardy and Rio e/b
  • McClintock and Rio w/b local traffic only up to Karsten Golf Course

If you are coming from the East Valley it is recommended that you take the 202 and get off at Center Parkway.  Travel n/b on Center Parkway to Washington, e/b Washington to Mill and Curry where officers can assist you over the bridge to Rio Salado Parkway.

If you are coming from the Phoenix area it is recommended that you take the 202 and get off on Priest.  Travel n/b to Washington, e/b on Washington to Mill and Curry where officers can assist you over the bridge to Rio Salado.

If you are taking surface streets you need to go to Priest and then e/b on Washington to Curry/Mill where officers can assist you over the bridge.

Access to ASU East Athletic Village, Lacrosse, Soccer, Wrestling, Weatherup:

  • Access to the above locations, University Drive to Athletes Place (2 blocks east of Rural) north to lot 59 to the facilities listed above.

Access to Playa Del Norte:

Those needing access to Playa Del Norte should enter and exit at Miller and Curry. 

  • If coming from Phoenix take the 202 and exit McClintock, n/b on McClintock to Curry, w/b Curry to Miller, s/b Miller to Playa Del Norte.
  • If coming from the East Valley take the 101 to McKellips, w/b on McKellips to McClintock, s/b on McClintock to Curry, w/b on Curry to Miller, s/b on Miller to Playa Del Norte.
  • If using the surface streets use McClintock to Curry, w/b on Curry to Miller, s/b on Miller to Playa Del Norte.
  • If coming from Scottsdale you can travel s/b on Scottsdale up to Curry, e/b on Curry to Miller, s/b on Miller to Playa Del Norte.
