TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State sophomore Grace Park (Phoenix, Ariz.) will compete in the LPGA's Nabisco Dinah Shore this week in Rancho Mirage, Calif., her second professional tournament of the 1999 spring season.
The tournament runs March 25-28 at the Mission Hills Country Club, a par 72, 6,460-yard layout. Defending champion Pat Hurst edged Helen Dobson by one stroke to win the 1998 title.
Park tied for 21st at last week's Standard Register PING at Moon Valley, shooting rounds of 73-72-72-70 (287). She has competed for Arizona State in two spring events - the Regional Challenge (Feb. 8-10), where she tied for eighth, and the Arizona Invitational (Feb. 22-24), where she claimed medalist honors.
Park will lead the Sun Devils in their home event next week, the PING/ASU Invitational, which will be held April 1-3 at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe. The 17-team field features 1998 U.S. Open Runner-Up Jenny Chuasiriporn of Duke, 1998 NCAA Champion Jennifer Rosales of USC and Park, the 1998 U.S. Amateur Champion.
