No. 9 Women's Tennis Played Well, But Were Unable to Top No. 3 Stanford

Tempe, AZ - Friday afternoon at the Whiteman Tennis Center, the Sun Devils faced off against the No. 3 ranked Stanford, which resulted in a 5-2 loss for the Sun Devils.

The 6-2 Devils are preparing to comeback from their loss tomorrow versus California.

In doubles play today, the Sun Devils were successful in gaining the point with Adria Engel and Dora Krustulovic defeated Lauren Kalvaria and Gabriela Lastra 8-4 and Joslynn Burkett and Cindy Sureephong defeated Keiko Tokuda and Story Tweedie-Yates 8-4.

In singles play, the devils refused to go quietly, but were still defeated 5-1 in singles.

Mhairi Brow had the only singles win for the Devils with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Lauren Barnikow.

Though the other Devils were not as successful, they played well.

Adria Engel gave her all in a tough, match versus Lauren Kalvaria which finished with a 6-3, 7-6 victory for Kalvaria.

2.) Barnikow/Burdette (SU) def. Brown/Yeats (ASU) 8-4

3.) Burkett/Sureephong (ASU) def. Tokuda/Tweedie-Yates (SU) 8-4
