INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The 24th-ranked Arizona State women’s tennis team (18-7) earned a bid to the 2014 NCAA Regionals hosted by the University of Alabama, the NCAA announced Tuesday. The Sun Devils will compete against Princeton (18-5) in the first round of NCAA competition on May 9th.
ASU tennis currently holds the active school record for most consecutive postseason appearances with 27 under head coach Sheila McInerney. The long-time head coach, who is in her 30th season leading the women’s tennis team, has led the Sun Devils to a total of 29 NCAA appearances.
The winner of the first-round match will advance to play the winner of Alabama (22-4) and Jackson State (10-17) on Sat., May 10.
